PINK ART - Call for Entries

Examples of decorated bras

The Women's Studies Program is proud to sponsor Pink Art, an event in honor of Women's History Month. Every three minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. We think that's one woman too many. Every breast in our community is at risk.

Participants in Pink Art are presented with a simple challenge: take an ordinary bra and turn it into a work of art. Whether you work best with feathers, sequins, fur or foam, let your inner artist take control! Pin it, sew it, duct-tape it, scrap it, quilt it, make it glow! Join the fun, get crafty and help raise money to help breast cancer research and the Women's Studies program at UCF. We welcome you to the Women's Studies exhibit and silent auction starting March 18 in the City Arts Factory.

Our Program

The Women's Studies Program at the University of Central Florida is an interdisciplinary discipline using research and teaching to focus on the relations of gender among various races, ethnicities, sexualities, and other differences in our society.

Through its curricular and co-curricular programming on campus, the Women's Studies Program enhances diversity and supports women and their endeavors. Off campus, the program recognizes its responsibility to serve the larger Orlando community by striving to build and sustain partnerships that demonstrate the pragmatic importance of the issues concerning the program.

Here you will find information regarding the undergraduate minor and certificate offered at UCF, as well as, information about the courses offered, requirements, and scholarship opportunities. Also featured is a student publication, The Gender Gazette, which is produced each semester and offers articles and information dealing with gender in our society.
