Give back to the community by taking up an activist project:
1.Plant a tree or a pesticide-free vegetable garden.
2.Donate your unused clothes and shoes to Harbor House, the Orlando County Center
Against Domestic Violence.
3.Recycle cans, plastic bottles, cardboard, and newspaper.
4.Collect aluminum soda can pull tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.
5.Volunteer as a reading buddy at your local elementary school.
6.Participate in the National Day of Silence, an event that mirrors the silence of LGBT
students everyday.
7.Walk to the grocery to pick up a few items instead of taking the car.
8.Start a book club with your friends using the recommended books.
9.Help an elderly neighbor/friend with some chores or shopping.
10.Write your senator about an issue you support or oppose.
11.Research the current presidential candidates and decide who you would want to
vote for and why.
12.Buy an extra can of food when you are at the grocery store and at the end of the
month donate them to your local food bank.
